Commenting on his extension as President of TiE Bangalore, Madan said, “I am honored to continue serving as President of TiE Bangalore for another term and to work alongside the new Governing Board. I am also excited about the formation of the President’s Council, which includes all our past Presidents. Together, we aim to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs and further expand TiE Bangalore’s initiatives. The progress we have made over the past two years in doubling our membership and fostering engagement with startups has been remarkable. We will continue to establish strong partnerships with the Government, Corporations, Investors, and Academia to advocate for the needs of entrepreneurs and drive positive change in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
The creation of a new President's Council, on which any former President of TiE Bangalore is eligible to participate as a member, was recently overwhelmingly agreed by TiE members at a Special General Meeting to strengthen governance and ensure smooth organizational continuity. Nandan Nilekani, Dr. Sridhar Mitta, Pradeep Kar, Naganand Doraswamy, and Ravi Gururaj have all served as president of TiE Bangalore in the past. In order to encourage and support the President and the chapter in empowering the following generation of business owners, the Presidents Council will serve as an advisory body.
TiE Bangalore has made great strides in many areas during the last two years. With more than 200 Charter Members, 600+ Associate Members, and 200+ Student Members, the organization has successfully doubled both its Charter Members and Associate Membership. In addition, TiE Bangalore has actively supported and guided more than 300 start-ups through a variety of cohorts, including TiE Women, EdTech, Healthcare, Matrix Awards, VentuRISE, Sanjeevini SRLM, and others. Around 35,000 entrepreneurs have been reached by the organization's 250+ events, which have helped to build a thriving learning and networking environment.
The entrepreneurial community has benefited from TiE Bangalore's hallmark projects, which have included the Matrix Global Conference, Spirit of TiE Awards, VentuRISE, Annual Charter Member Retreat, and others.
To help early-stage businesses get capital and promote their growth, TiE Bangalore also introduced TiE Angels. Furthering its influence on the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, TiE Bangalore has been actively collaborating with the Government of Karnataka and the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) on policy interventions as well as working with the Ministry of Rural Development on initiatives related to start-ups and women-owned businesses.
