Separator

In the last 2-3 years, our nation has successfully built a dynamic startup innovation environment, and Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar anticipates the upcoming wave to originate in sectors such as semiconductors, microelectronics, artificial intelligence (AI), and high-performance computing.

Minister Chandrasekhar launched the 'Investor Information and Analytics Platform' from IIT Madras, addressing the gap in our understanding of the innovation ecosystem. The platform features 'StartupGPT,' an AI-based tool facilitating information access, beneficial for researchers and policymakers in comprehending ecosystem growth.

Chandrasekhar emphasizes the significance of a holistic approach in researching the startup ecosystem's substantial growth over the past 2-3 years. The platform serves as a comprehensive hub for startups, connecting them to venture capitalists, investors, government schemes, and other crucial elements.

The free platform, crafted by researchers at IIT Madras's CREST, encompasses data on 200,000 startups, nearly 11,000 angel investors, 5,000 venture capitalists, 1,000 incubators, 100 government agencies supporting startups, and 550 banks backing these ventures. The platform aims to democratize access to information and capital, particularly benefiting young entrepreneurs.

Professor Thillai Rajan A, Head of CREST at IIT Madras, envisions platforms like these playing a crucial role in India's progress towards an innovation-driven economy ('Viksit Bharat'). He highlights their role in democratizing access to information and capital, aiding the commercialization of innovation, and benefiting countless young entrepreneurs by connecting them with experts, investors, and mentors.
