InIn a significant development, Union Minister Jitendra Singh inaugurated the Technical Centre of the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) in Bopal, Ahmedabad. This advanced facility is poised to provide comprehensive support to non-government entities (NGEs) operating within the space sector, covering aspects from design and development to the simulation and testing of space technologies.

The Technical Centre, equipped with cutting-edge facilities, including the Climate Simulation Test Facility (CSTF), Thermal and Vacuum Environment Simulation Facility (TVAC), and Vibration Test Facility (VTF), is strategically designed to address the diverse challenges faced by NGEs in translating conceptual space innovations into tangible realities. Specialized labs and clean rooms dedicated to assembly, integration, testing, and checkout activities for space systems enhance the facility's capabilities.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh emphasized that the inauguration of the IN-SPACe Technical Centre represents a significant step towards realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for India's ambitious space goals, underscoring the pivotal role of the private sector in achieving these aspirations.

With the aim of increasing India's share in the global space economy from 2% to 8% by 2033, the government has implemented progressive policies, including the relaxation of investment restrictions and the opening up of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the space sector. Minister Singh stressed the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors for further advancement.

S. Somanath, Secretary of the Department of Space and Chairman of ISRO, and Pawan Goenka, Chairman of IN-SPACe, highlighted the Technical Centre's role in fostering innovation and empowering entrepreneurs. The facility is envisioned as a comprehensive one-stop solution for NGEs, streamlining the transition from initial design phases to the development of fully operational space products and solutions.
