Unsoo Kim appointed as managing director in India by Hyundai Motor
South Korean auto major Hyundai Motor Company announced the appoitment of Unsoo Kim ready to take over as managing director from January 1.
Unsoo Kim, currently with the parent company in South Korea , will replace Seon Seob Kim (SS Kim) who will lead a global role at Hyundai Motor Company headquarters in Seoul.
He will take up responsibilities from Seon Seob Kim who will lead a global role at Hyundai Motor Company head quarters.
During his tenure as the MD of HMIL, SS Kim has taken a multi-pronged approaches that includes Hyundai's mobility strategy in India like transformation from an automobile brand to a Smart Mobility Solutions company.
SS Kim has been at the working in HMIL since November 2018. He has played a key role in positioning the company as a new age smart mobility solutions provider by bringing into focus on internet-enabled connected cars and kick starting the company's electric mobility journey in India with the launch of Kona, all-electric SUV.
Besides, SS Kim was also responsible for enhancing HMIL's leadership in the SUV segment in the Indian market by launching the new generation mid-sized SUV Creta and compact SUV Venue. Some successful models such as the Venue, new Creta, new i20 and electric SUV Kona were launched during his tenure.
