Tesla has appointed Vaibhav Taneja of Indian origin as its Chief Financial Officer. Vaibhav Taneja, who is currently the Chief Accounting Officer, will take on additional responsibilities as CFO. He will take over for Zachary Kirkhorn, who is leaving Tesla after 13 years.

The reason for the change was not disclosed by the Elon Musk-led company, but Kirkhorn is expected to remain in his position until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition. "Being a part of this company is a special experience, and I'm extremely proud of the work we've done together since I joined over 13 years ago," Kirkhorn wrote on LinkedIn.

Vaibhav Taneja (45), a commerce graduate from the University of Delhi, joined Tesla's team after the company acquired SolarCity in 2016. In addition to his primary responsibility as chief accounting officer, he was named "Master of Coin" within the organisation, according to the company.

Vaibhav Taneja was also appointed as the director of Tesla India Motors and Energy Private Limited in January 2021. According to a Moneycontrol report, Vaibhav has over 20 years of accounting experience. He has worked for a number of multinational corporations in the fields of technology, finance, retail, and telecommunications.
