The BCCI decided to auction the media rights first for the first time because it will allow potential team owners to figure out their business model based on projected revenues from the media rights deal. The BCCI will split 80 percent of the revenue from media rights and ground sponsorships equally among the five teams. Its invitation to tender (ITT) was available for a non-refundable fee of approximately Rs.5 lakh, excluding taxes. The ITT procurement procedure was available for purchase until the end of 2022, and it stated that only those who met the eligibility criteria outlined in the ITT and other terms and conditions would be eligible to bid. It also stated that simply purchasing this ITT did not entitle anyone to bid.
