Xiaomi's Poco elevated Himanshu Tandon as India head

Poco, the sub-brand of Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi Monday named Himanshu Tandon as the India head.

“Strengthening Poco’s vision in the country, Himanshu has been a part of founding team of Poco in India and has helped scale the brand over the years,” Poco said in a statement today.

In a major structural rejig, Xiaomi India has appointed Alvin Tse as the general manager, replacing Manu Kumar Jain's leadership role while Anuj Sharma will move into the role of chief marketing officer (CMO) and will be responsible for leading the company’s overall brand and marketing strategy.

Poco India added that the brand will increase its after-sales reach to more than 2,000 service centers across the country, to double down on its commitment toward quality and after-sales.

The company will also make an announcement today at 4pm, as per the statement. It may be about the launch of its new entry-level smartphone Poco C40 smartphone.

Online reports suggest that the Poco C40 will launch on June 16, and may feature a large 6.71-inch display, and a 6000mAh battery.
