Zappfresh Acquires Bonsaro to Bolster Presence in West India
Startup Zappfresh, known for its online meat delivery services, has announced its acquisition of Mumbai-based Bonsaro, a leading player in poultry, goat, and seafood delivery. The move is part of Zappfresh's strategy to extend its reach across West India and solidify its market presence in the region.
In a statement, Zappfresh revealed that it has taken over Bonsaro’s entire operations and assets, a strategic move aimed at enhancing its footprint in Mumbai and surrounding areas. This acquisition is expected to boost Zappfresh’s revenue to Rs 160 crore by FY 25, with significant growth anticipated in profitability.
Deepanshu Manchanda, founder of Zappfresh, emphasized the importance of this acquisition, stating, “By integrating Bonsaro into our portfolio, we are on track to create a pan-India brand with a strong presence in key markets. Mumbai, being a crucial market, will play a significant role in our expansion in the west”.
Manchanda further highlighted the company's disciplined approach to growth, “Our strategy involves expanding one city at a time, ensuring each step is profitable before moving to new markets”.
Zappfresh, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand, has attracted investments from entities including SIDBI VC, Dabur Family Office, Letsventure, Keritsu Forum, HT, and several notable angels in the food and tech sectors.
