Could you give a brief account of your professional background and experiences? What is the motivation that fuels your daily routines?
I'm Amareswara Prasad Chunduru, Co-founder and C.E.O, Director (R&D) at Inertia Astronautics Pvt. Ltd. As an engineer with a deep passion for space and technology, I've always been captivated by the boundless possibilities that lie within the vast expanse of the cosmos. This passion drove me to pursue a career in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, where I've achieved remarkable milestones. Winning two NASA challenges as part of the Artemis program and the Centennial Challenges stands as a proud moment for me, reinforcing my belief in the power of hard work and dedication. Additionally, I've published influential articles in esteemed journals, exploring innovative approaches to solving complex engineering problems and earning recognition from the scientific community. I've had the privilege of presenting my research at renowned international conferences organized by prestigious institutions like COSPAR, Michigan State University, CERN (EPSG), INSPIRE-HEP, and the North Pacific Marine Science Organization, further honoring my contributions to the fields of nuclear powered
rockets and particle accelerator physics. Furthermore, I've had the opportunity to collaborate with the Indian army, developing cutting-edge technologies and promoting indigenous innovation. With my background in Electro-Mechanical Engineering and a Master's degree in Applied Physics, I possess a diverse skill set and a profound understanding of the subject.

How would you define Inertia Astronautics as an organization and its current position in the market?
Inertia Astronautics is an innovative space startup that specializes in developing creative solutions for lunar operations, particularly in the field of In Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU). As a rapidly growing organization, we aim to lead the way in this specialized sector. The market for lunar ISRU is promising and has significant potential for expansion globally, including in India. PwC's assessment indicates that the lunar ISRU market is projected to exceed a value of €142 billion by 2040, offering significant opportunities for companies like Inertia Astronautics to shape the future of space exploration and resource utilization.

Tell us about your leadership approach. What are the guidelines or methodologies you follow as a leader?
My leadership approach is based on fundamental principles that foster a positive work environment. Effective communication is crucial, with transparent channels that promote information sharing and listening to my team members. Continuous learning and growth are encouraged through professional development and feedback. Collaboration and teamwork are prioritized and create a supportive atmosphere. By actively listening and empathizing, I strive to create a motivating and valued work environment.

Could you reflect on some of the toughest challenges you have encountered in your journey so far? How did you overcome them and what did you learn from them?
I encountered the challenge of collaborating with cross functional teams that exhibited diversity, leading to communication barriers and conflicting opinions. In order to
tackle this issue, I fostered an environment of open communication and established a secure platform for team members to share their view points. I oversaw team building exercises and promoted collaborative efforts to cultivate a culture of mutual under standing and respect. By incorporating active listening and demonstrating empathy, I successfully facilitated communication, strengthened relationships, and fostered a culture of inclusivity and collaboration. This experience has taught me the importance of embracing diversity, fostering open communication, and utilizing the unique strengths of each team member to attain shared success.

What is the future destination you are heading towards?
Inertia Astronautics aims to develop solutions for lunar challenges in In Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU). By collaborating with various companies, potentially partnering with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), and benefiting from the expertise of ex-ISRO officials, Inertia Astronautics is positioning itself to contribute to the space industry. The support of the Indian government through the Indian Space Policy 2023 further enhances the company's prospects. With a focus on deep tech solutions, strategic collaborations, and mentoring, Inertia Astronautics aims to have a successful future in the space industry, capitalizing on the growing interest in space exploration and lunar resource utilization.

What advice would you give to budding industry leaders?
I would advise budding industry leaders to prioritize building strong relationships and networks. Networking can provide access to clients, partnerships,and valuable perspectives. Participating in industry events, joining professional associations, and connecting with peers, mentors, and experts are beneficial for professional growth. Embracing change is also crucial in today's business environment. Leaders should be adaptable, open to innovation, and willing to explore new methods and advancements. Being adaptable enables seizing opportunities, minimizing risks, and successfully navigating periods of change.
