Speaking of which, a brainchild of an evangelist Jaya Kumar is out of the ordinary electric motorcycle company called Bewingz. With a futuristic approach towards production of electric motorcycles in India, Bewingz' Bolder is the world's first electric motorcycle with a full metal body. Everything is rebuilt and reinvented from the ground up, wherein, the final product is currently being prepared for pre-order.
In an exclusive interview with CEO Insights Magazine, Jaya Kumar, Founder & CEO at Bewingz walks us through his professional journey along with the unique traits of the company:
Throw some light on your professional background and experience. What inspired you to establish Bewingz and what motivates you today as an entrepreneur?
I began my career with Infosys after graduating from college. Following that, I joined HPE and have worked for some of the most well-known MNCs in the world of business. However, I was born with a strong interest in automobiles. I've always enjoyed riding bikes, and people have recognized me the way I ride it since I was a child. I've always been fascinated by futuristic vehicles and aspired to build my own futuristic model, an electric motorcycle. Bewingz was founded in December
2017, bootstrapped in 2018, the first prototype was tested in 2019 in Bangalore Nice Road and raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding in 2021 for further design and development. Currently, Bewingz is about to raise another 100 million to speed up the process to make it ready for the Indian and Global Market.
How would you define Bewingz as an organization and its position in the market?
Bewingz is a midscale brand that wants to make a statement with a performance-oriented electric motorcycle. Bewingz caters to people who are enthusiastic about bikes and bike rides. It's not just about speed. It's about joy, emotions, feelings, passion, experience, and, of course, saving gasoline energy. I'm sure everyone likes Bewingz. We have assembled a team of seasoned professionals who are also passionate about biking and want to bring needed innovation to the industry. We wanted to reach 1 million vehicles on the road and establish ourselves as a global brand in the mid segment. We intend to sell vehicles in India first, followed by a few other countries. Bewingz always be the number one company to bring the revolutionary all metal electric Motorcycle.
Take us through the experience that you bring to the table in the field of electric motorcycle
I've always been good at drawing and sketching. This knowledge assisted me in developing the motorcycle concept and connecting it with the design expert. I also oversee the company's overall operations and make critical decisions to ensure the company's success. I've always strived to develop essential leadership qualities. Furthermore, I believe that bringing positivity to the team will motivate them to achieve their goals, do their best work, and exceed expectations.
In your entrepreneurial journey so far, what were some of the most challenging circumstances you had to overcome, and what insights have you acquired from them?

In your entrepreneurial journey so far, what were some of the most challenging circumstances you had to overcome, and what insights have you acquired from them?
The most pressing challenge from the start was bringing the design to life. We spent countless hours brainstorming and redesigning every mm of the motorcycle. As a result, we are now able to create the most unique motorcycle on the market. We are proud to announce that we spent 10,000 hours redesigning and rebuilding the motorcycle. These long hours have provided us with the necessary expertise to get the masterpiece of electric motorcycle designs by using the cutting-edge technology.
How do you maintain the perfect balance between your personal and professional life? What is your success mantra?
Like Elon Musk, I have a never give up attitude. Since I turned my passion into a profession, there is no such thing as a personal and professional life. I believe in working on projects indefinitely without regard for profits. Except for the basic needs that we as humans require, such as food, shelter, and a few other things, I believe that whatever we receive is a bonus.
Going forward, what are the changes in market behavior that you anticipate, and what are the opportunities that you foresee? What are your future goals as an entrepreneur?
Given the sheer availability of human resources and other raw materials, India will be one of the largest markets for electric vehicles in the coming years. In the future, I believe India will set a global standard for electric vehicles. Many global companies are already coming to or eyeing India for production. With this, we would constantly reinvent our capabilities in order to stay abreast of changing market dynamics and bring to market the best possible electric motorcycle solutions that would set benchmarks in this niche segment. We are sure this futuristic concept design will be a new revolution in the Electric Motorcycle Industry and it will simply swipe all the other plastic and fiber made motorcycles. Customers can expect the first model Bolder to be ready for everyone by 2023.
