In an exclusive interview with CEO Insights Vaibhav Kulshrestha enlightens us more about My Mudra and his professional traits.

Tell us about your professional background and experiences. Which factors motivated you to establish My Mudra Fincorp?
I began my career in sales and marketing with organizations such as IDBI HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank, where I learned about business processes and risk management. I had no idea how to operate a business when I started my company 16 years ago. I didn't have a plan, but I was driven and willing to go to any length to make it happen. I quit my work and began a new journey, which was a risky one, but I was prepared to face whatever hurdles were ahead.

What factors motivated me and why? Still unsure, Fortunately, there are no right or wrong answers. Today the financial world has become customer centric, and we must develop our strategies to match their needs. I saw an opportunity when customers reached out for support. The last thing they wanted was to wait on hold and in those days bankers' access to the customer was very limited. But, in terms of manpower, we had no limitations, with small offices in every state, district, and city looking for new potential consumers. Another possible answer to your question is flexibility. We have discovered more versatile ways to meet our incomes, such as working for ourselves, investing time in creating for ourselves and providing employment to many.

What I have learned in the journey of sales begins in the field, not in the ac offices, so you should be proud to be a sales representative, and at the same time I have learned to deal with failure and improve myself

How would you define My Mudra Fincorp as an organization and its position in the market? What is the unique proposition that your organization offers to its employees?
My Mudra Fincorp is a fintech company that facilitates easy disbursal of funds for the personal use of borrowers and has played its part as a regional powerhouse whose distributorship spanned large scale and currently, India's fastest growing loan consultancy with more than 100 in house branches sourcing Business Loan, Personal Loan, Automobile Loan and many more across pan India and enjoys working with a plethora of financial institutions and other banking financial companies.

Our value proposition is built around self belief. We encourage our employees to take ownership of their success and failure through My Mudra. If you don't succeed on your first try, don't worry too much about it. Instead, we train them and make them believe in their ability to succeed.

You have been in the finance industry for more than 15+ years. In your opinion, how has the mindset of people about investments evolved through time?
Today's youth approach is very optimistic about the future, with the ability to take risks, a quest for more income, and the willingness to restart if a mistake is made. They want everything at a fast pace and on a large scale whether it's spending investing, or saving. They aim to optimize their happiness by balancing spending and investment. Asset allocation and SIP have become common parlance. Today's common man is not frightened to invest in debt since they want a consistent income along with capital appreciation.

What has been the success mantra that constantly helps you arrive at positive outcomes?
Quoting jargon like perseverance, hard work, and acquiring knowledge will complicate matters, and I don't want to impress the audience either. What I have learned in the journey of sales begins in the field, not in the ac office, so you should be proud to be a sales representative and at the same time, I have learned to deal with failure and improve myself.

What initiatives have you launched to offer financial literacy to today's youth and raise awareness about the significance of investment?
Financial literacy is critical for a customer to make decisions that lead to financial well being. A few key initiatives include education and training as well as fintech solutions. Trust is a responsibility, and my team has managed to build trust for the common Indian in an environment where people's interests are secured. And that is how we have transformed our company into a fintech company that will assist people in making investment decisions through awareness and knowledge.

Based on your strong professional experience, what advice would you give to upcoming entrepreneurs in the same industry?
Hire Characters Not Machines: You cannot succeed alone build a strong team and loose yourselves in the service of training and developing skills. And when I say hire characters, I mean people of varied ages, genders and experiences which will give you a new taste.
